MEET ME, AJAYE PANDILA, UPF TANZANIA

Hi Ajaye! Tell me more about you! My name is Ajaye Julius Pandila, I am 35 years old. I come from Dar Es Salaam-Tanzania; I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance in the Business Sector (BAF-BS) From Mzumbe University (Morogoro). Things I like to do in my free time include running, swimming, watching football matches and listening to music.
What is your background for choosing the industry? I started out in the banking industry, where I gained a strong foundation in compliance, risk, and financial control. I then moved to the wholesale industry to understand inventory, trading margins, and commercial cash flow. Finally, to Logistics because I wanted to complete the whole picture and understand the operational side of the supply chain and how goods actually move. This background gives me a unique 360-degree view – I understand the funding, the product, and the cost of movement.
What is your role at the office? My role at the Office is Financial Controller and in my day-to-day activities I oversee accounting activities; ensure that ledgers accurately reflect money coming in and out of the Company; manage cashflow; ensure accuracy in our booking and financial systems, financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting at the company. I am responsible for the quality and compliance of our external financial service supplier, ensuring smooth cooperation, ensuring company documents and HR files are compliant in cooperation with accountants and national laws and requirements.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In five years to come I see myself fully mastered in Financial Controller core duties. Using that foundation to have best achievement in Finance Department, Automation of the process to reduce monthly close cycle, guide my team and helping them to grow in senior roles.
