MEET ME, BRUNO BATSANE, UPF MOZAMBIQUE

Hi Bruno! Tell me about you! My name is Bruno Miguel Batsane, I am 32 years old and I am from Mozambique. I have previously completed a Medium-Level Technical Course in Customs, which gave me a strong foundation in customs procedures, documentation and the movement of goods. I am also currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology, which is helping me strengthen my analytical, problem-solving and technical skills. I consider myself a responsible, committed and adaptable person who enjoys learning and taking on new challenges.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing the drums and guitar, and doing physical exercise. I also value spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy activities that allow me to stay active, develop my creativity and continue learning, both personally and professionally.
What is your background for choosing the industry? My interest in the logistics industry developed through my professional experience. I was attracted to the industry because it is dynamic and essential to business, connecting people, companies, suppliers, customers and markets around the world.
Over the years, I have gained experience in transportation, fleet coordination, cargo control, warehousing and operational documentation. These experiences have shown me how important planning, communication, attention to detail and teamwork are to keeping logistics operations running efficiently.
This opportunity allows me to broaden my experience, gain exposure to new processes and continue developing my skills within the logistics and operations environment.
What is role at the office? As an Operations Assistant, I support the day-to-day coordination of sea, air and road freight shipments. I assist with shipping and customs documentation and track shipment status to help ensure operations progress smoothly.
I also liaise with clients, suppliers, transporters and clearing agents, while supporting the Key Account Manager with quotations, reports, tenders and general administration. My role is to help ensure shipments are handled accurately, efficiently and on time.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In five years, I see myself as a more experienced and well-rounded professional in the logistics and operations industry, with strong knowledge of operational processes, sales and technology.
I would like to have progressed into a position with greater responsibility, where I can contribute to planning, business development, process improvement and decision-making. I also want to build a long-term career in the industry, continuously learn from experienced professionals and take on new challenges as I grow.
Ultimately, I want to be recognised as a reliable professional who adds value to the organisation and is trusted to take on increasing levels of responsibility.
