MEET ME, NISHIN DHAMANKAR, UPF SOLUTIONS
Hi Nishin! Tell me more about you! My name is Nishin Dhamankar, I am a 32-year-old
professional originally from Mumbai, India. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree from
the University of Mumbai and a master’s degree in information systems from the
University of Colorado, Denver. When I am not working, I enjoy playing golf, cooking,
traveling around the world, and reading about global affairs.
What is your background for choosing the industry? My background in logistics was
shaped during my master’s program, where I had the opportunity to take courses such as
supply chain management, project management, and international business. These
subjects captivated my interest and provided me with a solid foundation in the
complexities of the logistics field. I was particularly drawn to the dynamic nature of
logistics and its critical role in global trade and efficiency. This interest motivated me to
pursue a career in this industry, as I am passionate about optimizing processes and
driving innovative solutions.
What is your role at the office? I am joining the UPF Group as the Business
Development Manager for Southern Africa and I will soon be based in South Africa,
working with alongside the team at the Johannesburg office. My daily
activities will primarily involve onboarding new clients, maintaining strong relationships
with existing clients, and identifying opportunities to grow our business – particularly
across the Southern and Central African regions, with plans to expand into cross trades
and the East African (EAF) market. This includes conducting meetings to understand
client needs, strategizing tailored solutions, and collaborating with internal teams to
ensure client satisfaction and drive revenue growth.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In five years, I see myself advancing in my career
within the company, utilizing the knowledge and experience I have gained to introduce
innovative products and services that will contribute to UPF’s growth. I am committed to
continuous professional development and look forward to collaborating with my team to
drive our success in the market.
